Black Diamond O2 Telemark Ski Binding Ridiculously Stiff Blue

I have been skiing on this binding for about 4 years now and love it. I used to ski the G3 binding and had problems on new snow days / deep powder days -- the new snow would pack between the binding and the sole of my boot (under the front bellows of my boot) and this would require me to completely remove the ski in order to clear the snow. The O2 binding cables lie underneath the boot and keep the snow from packing into this area!! As such, problem solved (thanks team Black Diamond). The only reason I don't give this binding a full 5 stars is that I find that the springs sometimes loosen and I have occasionally found myself traveling at extremely high speeds (early morning groomers on east coast mountains) with my foot working it's way out of the binding. My local shop has told me that this should not happen if the tightness is properly adjusted (there is a mark on the spring slug that must show when tension is just right), but it's still a design flaw in my opinion (I also hear that a bit of lock-tight can be of help, but I have yet to test this theory). Also, I have been backcountry in the extreme cold and had my heel piece snap, so I also recommend traveling with a repair kit if you are doing lots of backcountry. Overall, this is a GREAT binding and it has lasted nicely during the past 4-5 years. *Software
