Its only been 2 years since Katharine began skeleton but she is now one of the top 3 candidates to qualify as a representative for New Zealand in the skeleton sport. Before she met skeleton, Katharine was a sprinter in track and field but she switched to skeleton after a friend suggested this sport to her. As skeleton is not a popular sport in New Zealand, she faces difficulties in finding sponsors to assist her with overseas competitions and daily training.
