Eisacktal 2011/2012, Gitschberg and Jochtal connected by a new gondola

The ski areas of Gitschberg and Jochtal for the upcoming 2011/2012 ski season will create single largest ski area, with up to 44 km of slopes and 16 lifts. In fact they are building a new 8-seater gondola mid-station with the lifts in Valles that will sobstitute the ld ski-lift Schilling and Schwandt and a new gondola that will connect the new top station of the gondola at the Valles valley station of Nesselbahn.
The town of Rio di Pusteria, located at the intersection of Val Pusteria and Isarco Valley, near Bressanone in a strategic area which will make the new Gitschberg Jochtal Ski Area, one of the most interesting holiday area in South Tirol.
The ski area of Maranza, built around the round mountain, known among residents as "Gitsch", located between 1400 to 2500 and then connects with the ski area of Valles, with slopes for skiers of all levels dedidate along slopes of Jochtal. One of the most interesting tracks, the descent from the Mitterling Joch, Nesselbahn the cable car, and arrives at the gates to Valles.
The final design of the new plant, built by Gitschbers Jochtal Ltd Skikarussel Jochtal SpA and includes construction of ski lifts and Gaisjoch denminati Schilling.
"We believe that it makes more sense to develop the two ski areas that do not break up with interventions and create two small islands in the future would not have particular perspectives," said Luis Durnwalder, the President of the Council of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
