Situated in the Upper Engadine and founded in the 19th century, St. Moritz is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. The cable car Diavolezza has closed its doors las 26th November 2011 and reopens Saturday, February 11th for the spring skiing season with a new look futuristic. This is the largest investment project of the company Bergbahnen Engadin St. Moritz AG's 2011/2012 season, the new cable is slightly smaller than the previous one, but is heavier and faster. The windows reach to the floor and guests can enjoy a stunning panoramic view.

The Freeride World Qualifier Events (FWQ) is a series of qualifying competitions in which highly-skilled skiers and snowboarders compete with the ultimate goal of grabbing a spot on the Freeride World Tour (FWT).With the high interest and much at stake, the FWQ 2011 will feature some of the most exciting competitive freeriding going, in 30 ski resorts around the world. In addition, the Freeride World Tour is launching its first ever Junior Competitions to further promote grassroots freeriding and fuel young talent.

The Freeride World Tour announces its third season. The world's best skiers and snowboarders will yet again be battling it out in four of the world's most prestigious ski resorts. It will all start on the Russian slopes of Sochi in January followed closely by the next stage in Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France. The Tour will then journey to the United States to “ride” the mythical Tram Face, that has not yet officially been cleared for a freeriding competition. Finally, those riders with the top ratings will compete in the Tour's grand final in Verbier during the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch which celebrates its 15th year.
