The sunny Val Pusteria, dominated by the Dolomites of Sesto Braies extends from the Valle Isarco in the East Tyrol and is formed by the attractive towns of Sesto Pusteria, San Candido, Toblach, Villabassa and cable cars. The Three Peaks, Hochgal and the Plan de Corones form the background of the region.
There are several ski routes in Sesto Pusteria you where you can practice skiing on groomed pistes and on those of Monte Elmo Croda Rossa, which from June 2008 are in the same area ofapproximately 30 kilometers of trails. In San Candido you can ski on the slopes of Mount Baranci, with 10 kilometers of tracks. Other locations have smallish areas dedicated to beginners. Alta Pusteria is dominated by cross-country skiing, with over 100 kilometers of trails for every type of skier. La Pista del Sole, 16 miles, allows to know the whole valley. The historic Dobbiaco - Cortina, 42 kilometers, has the track of Plaetzwiese, the most challenging run with about 8 kilometers of piste.
