by Michela Caré

Neveitalia met with General Manager Head of Italy, Corrado Macciò, as part of the Ski Test that Neveitalia held on the snows of Cervinia and are aimed at the publication of the technical guide purchase 2011-12. It 'was an opportunity to be told what are the strengths of these skis, used by the best athletes in the circus, and to take stock of the expectations of the season 2011-12.
How the ski market is going?
The ski market in the last three years has been fairly stable with a slight increase. I'm worried for next winter because, if there is little snow, there can be an impact on sales.
How does the Head of the Italian market within the European market?
In Italy there are many skiers skiing though not as the main sport in Switzerland and Austria.E 'a sport and tourism during the winter season has its weight within the Italian economy and thus the market Italian is an attractive market for Head and is a traditional market.
What is the innovation on which points more in the 2011/2012 Head?
As a global company we have a number of innovations that are applied on different types of products. It 'a bit' of years that we have the ability to use materials that allow us to use the electronics inside the ski. As for the boots, however, we focus on evolution:As we know, is that for thirty years the boot is made of two pieces of plastic with four hooks. Our goal is to be able to combine good performance with the comfort of the boot: once thought of as performance. Today, thanks to the evolution and the ability to draw through the computer and the shapes of the hulls of shoes, you can build a product as well as convenient to drive to help the skier skiing.
The Alpine Ski World Cup for Head started in the same way it has ended, with Head on the top step of the podium. As you can see the next few months for your athletes?
We have the best team in both the female athletes in the men's field. I do not speak in number, but at the level of skill and image. Our athletes are the most charismatic, most visible, are the ones that bring more results for which we plan to take away this winter also of great satisfaction.
The evolution of skiing for the World Cup is reflected in the products that the public is in stores sporting goods?
Certainly yes. The racing worldis the most advanced research center to find the solutions to be used on products that are then applied on the slopes all day.
What do you think of the new FIS rules?
I think it is right and proper that the International Federation to take charge of the safety of athletes. I do not know and I do not think, however, that since the solution is now the only and ultimate solution. I think everyone's interest that the athletes do get hurt, first for a personal discourse, and second because the company makes investment of a testimonial is injured and if the investment will lose its efficiency. The road traveled is not the only way, there are others: we must look at the tracing of the slopes, the type of snow, the physical structure of the athletes. It is true that today's athletes have muscles stronger thanks to new training methods, but it is also true that there are continuous injury to the ligaments of the knee. The FIS wanted to strike only in one direction, ie the equipment when in fact there would be other factors to consider for the safety of athletes.Let's talk about 'you too, how did you get to play the role of General Manager Head Italy?
Due to my strong passion for skiing. I started skiing as a kid, I did a course of competitive races with poor results, I became a ski instructor, I began to work with the Head as regards promotions and product development. Later I joined the company as Product Manager Italy and, once inside the company, I made a path that led me to become general manager. But basically, to be arrived where I arrived, I would like to thank my great passion for skiing and the mountain.
Do you have any suggestions for those who want to combine a passion for skiing with the world of work?
Having the chance to combine his passion for work I think it's one of the most beautiful things, you make a good life, but above all you will get great satisfaction. I, for example, in the winter I find myself to spend so many weekends in the mountains away from family for work, but I do it with passion. When I am down a slope with skis on their feet, whether for pleasure or for business, for me it's always a joy.
