The tough Step On® boot without compromise

Want a snowboard boot that doesn't sacrifice anything? The Burton team also always likes to reach for the Ion. The tough all-mountain boot is full of sophisticated technology and sets the bar high for boots. It has been equipped with every conceivable feature and is also available as an Ion Step On® for the simple, intuitive binding that will make you faster than anyone else on the mountain.

Outer boot
The Step On® Backstay on the back of the boot provides extra grip between boot and binding and is specifically designed for the Step On® binding. The 1:1 PowerUP tongue with firm flex provides more suspension and resistance. ReBounce cushioning gets even closer to your feet. This additional layer is attached to the outer boot and offers more impact protection directly under your foot. The Step On® EST® outsole combines grip and traction to give you a more direct connection to your board. Low profile, lighter and with reduced ramp angle, EST creates a lower centre of gravity and improves board feel.

Liner
The Life liner with Ultralon Performance Foam® has excellent thermoformability and adapts the liner to the shape of the foot. The responsive PU tongue provides speed and resistance to fatigue, showing excellent performance over a long period of high use. DRYRIDE Heat Cycle lining captures, radiates and reflects body heat inwards to keep feet warmer while wicking away heat-trapping moisture. The AutoCANT padding is made of Dual Density EVA and allows the foot to find a natural, relaxed position. This results in more comfort, less fatigue and more direct board control.
The Tuff Cuff increases heel stability and wraps the ankle with medial and lateral support. It also allows a free flex from the heel to the toes.

Lacing system
With the powerful, unobtrusive Speed Zone™ lacing, the boot laces up super fast and adjusting the top and bottom is just a matter of seconds. Powerful lacing means more rebound, support and response with less effort. An additional Boa® lacing system provides even more support and stability.
New England rope laces make your boots virtually indestructible, which Burton guarantees for life.

Da ich mehr auf der Piste unterwegs bin als im Park oder Abseits habe ich einen Boot gesucht der die Kraft direkter überträgt und trotzdem bequem ist. Der Burton Ion Step On hat für mich die richtige Härte, ist aber trotzdem unglaublich bequem. Egal ob ich einen gemütlich auf der Piste mit meiner Frau unterwegs bin mal durch den frischen Neuschnee jage oder ein zwei Runden im Park drehe, der Boot performt in jeder Situation perfekt. Ich habe den Boot in Größe 13 gekauft, da die Burton Boots kleiner ausfallen. Trotz meiner 96KG überträgt der Schuh die Kraft sehr direkt und fühlt sich nicht schwammig an.

Ich habe den Boot im Sauerland und kurz in den Alpen getestet.
Egal ob ich morgens über die frischen Pisten gejagt bin, oder mit meiner Frau gemütlich unterwegs war, der Burton Ion hat überall perfekt performt.
Mit dem Boot bekomme ich mehr Feedback von der Piste und kann die Kraft besser in das Board dosieren als mit meinem vorherigen Boot ( Flex 4 ).
Am meisten überzeugt mich die Passform und der Komfort des Innenschuhs. Sollte es doch mal drücken kann man ihn thermisch anpassen.
Für mich ist es wichtig, dass ich den Boot, den ich teilweise 8 Stunden trage, nicht merke. Heisst kein Drücken, kein Rutschen und keine kalten Füße. All das kann der Burton Ion. Er drückt nicht, ich rutsche nicht und bekomme auch bei minus 15 Grad keine kalten Füße.

Meiner Meinung nach ist das der perfekte Boot, für mich.
Er hat ausreichend Härte um sicher auf der Kante zu stehen und ist nicht zu hart um auch mal ein zwei Runden durch den Park zu fahren.
Ich Empfehle den Boot jedem, der wie ich viel auf der Piste unterwegs ist und den es auch mal in den Park oder Tiefschnee verschlägt.
Kleiner Tipp:
steckt Eure Hose unbedingt in die dafür vorgesehene Klammer, sonst geht die Step on Bindung nicht richtig zu und die Hose im worst case kaputt.
