4th World Stars Ski Event in Samnaun
Rarely can fans get so close to the stars. Samnaun is where sports celebrities come together. On 30th and 31st January 2009, nearly 40 stars will gather for the "4th World Stars Ski Event" to raise money for disadvantaged children around the world. Patron and co-founder of the Monegasque Association is none other than Prince Albert II of Monaco, who will be personally attending the event.
The Star Team MC Association was founded in 1993 by Prince Albert II and Mauro Serra with the goal of helping underprivileged and disadvantaged children around the world. The Association has been organising a celebrity football match during the Formula 1 race in Monaco for the past 15 year,Golf Charity Tournement Prince Ranier III, GP Cote d’Azuz Bicycle Race, Karting Stars Cup MC. For four years now, there has also been a winter counterpart: the "4th World Stars Ski Event."
Approximately 40 prominent athletes representing a variety countries and sports demonstrate their commitment to a worthy cause by participating in this superlative event in Samnaun. Most people never have a chance to be so close to their sports idols. Highlight of the occasion is the parallel slalom on the floodlit Musella slope in Samnaun-Dorf. Under the watchful eyes of jubilant spectators, the stars give their all - hoping to celebrate a personal triumph as well as a victory for a great cause. Each star teams up with a young person from the region to compete on two courses. Their times are combined, and the fastest team wins. But the true winners of the event are the kids - more than € 2.200.000,00 has already been raised from the Star Team MC at today.
In addition to Prince Albert II of Monaco, who as patron attends the event in person, numerous prominent personalities will also be present, including Jarno Trulli, Riccardo Patrese, Vito Antonio Liuzzi, Peter Runggaldier, Jure Kosir, Bibiana Perez, Claudio Chiapucci, Kristian Ghedina, Martin Hangl, Isolde Kostner, Fritz Strobl, Deborah Compagnoni, Paolo de Chiesa, Tom Kristensen, Pernilla Wiberg, Giuseppe Dossena, Pirmin Zurbriggen, Alex Caffi, Christophe Saioni, Emanuele Pirro, Ezio Gianola. We are curious to see who else joins this illustrious group.
Additional stars have received invitations from the Prince.

4:30 p.m. Parallel slalom on Musella slope in Samnaun-Dorf
The race is a team event. Each local youth competes together with a star. Their two times are combined, and the fastest teams win.
