The the town of Barzio (850 m.), rich in vegetation, develops the main pists of the carousel Valsassina for skiers with ski slopes and off-piste routes linked with those of Valtorta (m. 935).
The lifts serve about 30 kilometers of trails, geared mainly to experienced skiers and some for beginners. For the most demanding skiers, there is the downhill of Valtorta, starting from Mount Chiavelli and the blower door and Cedrino Ceresoli.
The site is also designed for ski touring and at the bottom there are paths for Nordic skiing covering 25 kilometers that are approved for international competitions.
