Forni di Sopra, appointment with the Sky-Race Friulian Dolomites

The emotions of the Sky Race Friulian Dolomites are coming back. The race is not competitive with individually dedicated to the "runners" male and female will be staged on Sunday, August 30 departure from Forni di Sopra, through four valleys in the beautiful setting in the Natural Park of the Dolomites of Friuli, recently approved as World Heritage Site.

This is a non-competitive tender individual male and female stage of the Circuit SKYRACE the FSA International Federation for Sport and Altitude, sponsored by the circuito Nazionale Trail Running. It will be three Mountain (Flaiban Pacherini, Casera Val Binon and Giaf).
The competition runs on a wild but not too difficult terrain, capable of emotions and fun and goes by mule paths, through the dramatic alpine meadows that skirt the Friuli Dolomites. The transition occurs at a height of three bands, all height above 2000 meters, and it is rare to come across some ibex. The maximum time for completion of the course is set in 7 hours.

Both show, therefore, extremely varied along the route, which mirrors the famous track "Truoi by Sclops" (Trail gentianellas) with a vertical drop of 1,700 meters overall. Last year, the participants were over 600, coming from many Italian regions and from abroad and all the indications are that this year the event will be a public success.

Then no lack collateral activities such as entry into the large sports center with swimming pool and cultural parties related to the theme promoted by the local section of the mountain Cai. The prize fund, then, is particularly rich and rewarding everyone with a competition package engineer. Very good standard, in addition, receptivity, thanks to the 14 hotels in Forni di Sopra, the area dedicated to camping and staging area for campers.

The race on Sunday 27 August and organized by the Society Sports Fornes, Gruppo Sportivo Edelweiss, the Alpine Rescue and CAI of Forni di Sopra, in cooperation with the Park Authority Friuli Dolomites, the City, the Consortium of tourist services, the Refuge Giaf Voluntary Associations and Fornes.
The S. S. Fornes, leader of the organizing group has thus become the first company in the region to join the Federation and of the Friuli Dolomites first SKY-RACE of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Federation has expressed its satisfaction at the SS Fornes because so integrated in a big circuit races all regions of the Alps, in Friuli Venezia Giulia before now had never beenorganized competitions of this kind.
