At the foot of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites, lying on a green valley that opens up suddenly from the narrow valley, Alta Badia. Thanks to its good and central location and the genuine and friendly hospitality of its people is rightly known as "the heart of the Dolomites." The Ski Area of Val Badia includes six resorts: Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, San Cassiano, Pedraces and La Valle. The ski area features a spider web of trails and facilities across South Col, Pralongià and Campolongo, has 53 modern ski lifts that connect with each other 130 km of pistes.
The Alta Badia is home to a giant slalom World Cup on the famous Gran Risa in La Villa, which is considered one of the best tracks in the world for this specialty.

In Alta Badia are two sites that fall under the declaration of "Natural Heritage of Humanity": the natural park of Fanes Sennes Braies and natural park Puez Odle. Summer is the best season to visit.

Unesco: the Dolomites become Universal Heritage of Humanity

The World Heritage Committee has officially entered the Dolomites in the list of Universal Heritage of Humanity UNESCO. A decision on the nomination submitted by the Italian government was taken unanimously by the 21 members of the UNESCO committee, meeting in Seville.

Sellaronda Skimarathon, the famous international touring ski competition, has come to his 14th edition. It's a touring ski competition by night for extreme skiers, also valid for the "Coppa delle Dolomiti". The competition is open to 2-people teams. Each team must be equipped with: two pairs of touring skis and a front light.
